On February 11, 2026, the Sun City Center Community Association Board unanimously approved the formation of our club. That approval was not just procedural. It was recognition that this community is ready for deeper conversation, broader understanding, and honest education about the African American experience.

The club was formed by residents who believed that African American history should not be reduced to a month on a calendar or limited to celebration without context. We formed it because education creates clarity, and clarity builds unity. In a world filled with noise, distortion, and division, we chose structure, learning, and dialogue.

From the beginning, we made a clear decision: we are education-driven, not entertainment-driven. While culture includes music, food, and celebration, our foundation is knowledge. We are committed to thoughtful programming, historical grounding, meaningful discussion, and community engagement that strengthens understanding rather than simply fills a room.

This club was not created to divide. It was created to deepen understanding. Education is our anchor. Respect is our tone. Community is our goal.

We meet monthly on the third Thursday of each month beginning March 19th in the Caper Room North Campus between 12::00 PM to 2:00 PM. Each meeting is designed to inform, challenge, and connect residents through structured presentations and open dialogue.

We are not a social club built around entertainment. We are an education-focused organization committed to serious inquiry, historical literacy, and informed conversation. Our programs are designed to challenge assumptions, expand knowledge, and promote thoughtful engagement. We believe learning should be intentional and grounded, not casual or performative.
